OVERVIEW

Due to the advancement of science & technology in operations & maintenance to find measures & means for implementation in the Arab countries, the lack of an Arab standardized measures for operations & maintenance & means of executing them, & a shortage in personnel training; there were recurrent calls to establish an Institute of Operations & Maintenance to operate in the Arab region.

This request had been highly recommended in all conferences & conferences covering operations & maintenance topics in the Arab region, especially in the International Operations & Maintenance Conferences in the Arab Countries (OMAINTEC) held between 2002 & 2017.

The main focus in most of the previous events was on the importance of establishing a body which would handle, organize & unify all efforts in order to improve the quality of the maintenance practices in the Arab region. Due to the high need and importance of this issue, the “Arab Institute for Operations & Maintenance” was established in 2003 based in Beirut.

The activities of the Institute include mainly: publishing a specialized magazine on operations & maintenance & organizing an annual award ceremony in appreciation of innovative and successful domains of operations & maintenance such as the “Arab Award for Operations & Maintenance”, which is the first of its type in this field in the Arab World.

The first Arab Award was granted in 2005 and it has been annually organized since then OMAINTEC.
 

AWARD GOALS

The Arab Award for Operations & Maintenance aims at:

AWARD COMMITTEE

All Award applications will be discussed and evaluated by special committees of engineers & specialists in the field of operation & maintenance in the Arab region. The final selection of the award winners will be chosen according to the required criteria.
 

 

ANNOUNCEMENT & DISTRIBUTION OF THE AWARDS

Upon receiving the final nominations from all the specialized committees, the winners will be notified by September 30, 2018, & the award distribution will take place at the honoring gala dinner for participants of the 16^th International Operations & Maintenance Conference in of the Arab countries, which will be held in InterContinental CityStars Cairo, Hotel - Republic of Egypt, 18-20 November 2018.

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
